Most International Town 2026: The 10 Towns with the Most Foreign Visitors
03 Nov 2026 · 08:00
Following the highest-rated and most-visited, the third official list of 2026 arrives: the most international villages, based on data from Telefónica Tech. In Alcúdia (Mallorca), almost two out of every three visitors arrive from abroad: 64.7%. It is followed by El Castell de Guadalest (Alicante) and Betancuria (Fuerteventura). Alcúdia received its award at home, during the gala dinner of the XIV National Assembly.
Based on data from Telefónica Tech, not estimates
The list measures the proportion of visitors to each village coming from outside Spain, using anonymous and aggregated mobile phone data from Telefónica Tech. It is based on the percentage, not the volume: this allows a mountain village and a coastal town to compete on equal terms.
Baleares and Canarias account for six of the ten villages, but Setenil de las Bodegas, Frigiliana, and Mogrovejo demonstrate that international travelers also seek out the inland regions.
Where do they come from? Germany is the leading country in five of the ten villages and the United Kingdom in three. In Setenil de las Bodegas, Polish visitors lead, and in Mogrovejo, the French.
The ten most international villages
Telefónica Tech, October 2025 to August 2026. Foreigners as a percentage of the municipality's total visitors (minimum 500); countries, as a percentage of each village's total foreign visitors.
And in January, to FITUR
The awarded villages will once again receive recognition at FITUR 2027, in Madrid, the great international tourism event.
