Morella Castle will be open during special hours from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with tickets priced at seven euros

Morella is an ideal location for viewing the total solar eclipse on August 12. As a result, the city council has established a special plan to accommodate the large crowds expected for this unique astronomical event. The plan designates various viewing points and areas, divided into two categories. On the one hand, there will be spaces in the town center and surrounding areas to accommodate residents, as well as visitors already staying in the municipality. On the other hand, the city has designated three locations within the municipal boundaries that offer good visibility; advance reservations are required for these via the website www.morellaturistica.com.

The different locations within the municipality are the Sierra del Águila, the Mas de Palos, and the Torremiró Wind Farm. These sites can accommodate more than 1,600 vehicles and 4,000 people. The entrance to Sierra del Águila is on the N-232 highway, between Morella and La Torreta, and it has a capacity of 417 vehicles for passenger cars and motorcycles. The rural road to Mas de Palos connects to the N-232 between Morella and Torremiró and has a capacity of 500 vehicles for passenger cars and motorcycles. Finally, the Torremiró Wind Farm is accessible via the N-232 and can accommodate 750 vehicles; in addition to passenger cars, motorhomes and campers can also park there.

The urban viewing areas offer good visibility of the sunset. The Alameda Promenade and its parking lots, the Fontanella Path, the Cemetery Path, the castle, the Santa Llúcia Reservoir, the Aqueduct Promenade, and the Jaume I Promenade are the main recommended spots. The castle, which has limited capacity, will be open with special hours from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. so visitors can enjoy the solar eclipse. For this reason, 300 tickets will be available for advance purchase, and 50 will be sold at the box office on the day of the event, priced at seven euros.
