"The Most Beautiful Towns in Spain" in Aragon and the Government of Aragon Launch a Joint Initiative to Promote Rural Tourism

30 Oct 2026 · 13:09

The Los Pueblos Más Bonitos de España association in Aragon has held a meeting with the Director General of Tourism of the Government of Aragon to present its tourism potential and objectives, with the aim of advancing a collaborative relationship that will strengthen the role of these villages as tourism benchmarks in the region.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of dialogue and goodwill, with a shared desire to discuss needs, propose ideas, and study potential joint actions regarding promotion, heritage conservation, and improving the experience of those who visit these destinations.

The association brings together the fifteen villages from the three Aragonese provinces that are part of the Los Pueblos Más Bonitos de España network: Aínsa, Alquézar, Ansó, and Roda de Isábena in Huesca; Albarracín, Calaceite, Cantavieja, La Fresneda, Linares de Mora, Mirambel, Puertomingalvo, Rubielos de Mora, and Valderrobres in Teruel; and Anento and Sos del Rey Católico in Zaragoza. Its creation responds to the goal of working in a coordinated manner, giving a voice to common needs, and turning their tourism appeal into opportunities for the territory.

One of the messages conveyed during the meeting was precisely the scope of this appeal: these villages attract visitors who also discover other municipalities, stay in the surrounding areas, and consume in establishments within their regions. Strengthening these destinations helps foster a broader tourism offering, connected to local commerce, hospitality, producers, and local initiatives.

Among the issues addressed were joint promotion, participation in FITUR 2027, and the hosting in Albarracín, in 2027, of the XV National Assembly of Los Pueblos Más Bonitos de España, for which the Directorate General has shown its willingness to collaborate.
