On June 15, Villanueva de los Infantes hosted the 8th Classic Bicycle Meet, an initiative promoted by members of the Actüa Animal Welfare Association that, year after year, continues to establish itself as a highlight on the local calendar, bringing together a growing number of participants and enthusiasts from across the country.

This eighth edition drew more than 40 registered participants, who arrived on their classic bicycles and dressed in period costumes matching the bikes that took center stage during the event, creating a unique scene that sparked the interest and admiration of residents and visitors alike.

The participants were welcomed in the Plaza Mayor by the Councilor for Public Safety, Francisco Moya Torres, who also took part in the event. From there, they set off on a leisurely ride through the town’s historic center until reaching the Descansadero del Quijote, where they enjoyed a communal lunch before heading back to the Plaza Mayor.

As is tradition, the event concluded with an awards ceremony for the most outstanding participants, recognizing both the uniqueness of the bicycles and their owners’ commitment to preserving this historic heritage on wheels.

Beyond its cultural and recreational aspects, the event maintains its charitable spirit, as all proceeds raised during the day are donated in full to the Actüa Animal Welfare Association, thereby supporting its work to promote animal welfare.
