The Regional Government of Castile-La Mancha has designated the Torremejía Palace in Almagro as a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC) in the “Monument” category—a new distinction that recognizes the historical, architectural, and heritage value of one of our city’s most significant buildings.
We at the Almagro City Council are pleased to celebrate this designation, which represents yet another acknowledgment of Almagro’s rich heritage and joins the ranks of our city’s buildings and sites that already enjoy this highest level of heritage protection.
The inclusion of the Torremejía Palace in Almagro’s list of Assets of Cultural Interest reinforces our city’s status as a heritage and tourism hub in Castilla-La Mancha and also presents an opportunity to continue highlighting, preserving, and promoting our historical legacy.
Almagro boasts an exceptional heritage that is part of our identity and also constitutes one of our main tourist and cultural resources. Each new designation helps protect this legacy and ensures that it can continue to be enjoyed and appreciated by present and future generations.
On behalf of the City Council, we would like to thank all the individuals and institutions that have helped make this designation possible and reaffirm our commitment to preserving and promoting Almagro’s heritage.
