The 2026 Morella Fair will feature a packed schedule on September 12 and 13

Throughout the weekend there will be an exhibition and sale of sheep, cattle and horses, as well as products from the primary sector

More than 100 exhibitors will gather at the paseo de la Alameda and the Espai Firal, where various activities will also take place

The event celebrates 788 years of history with the aim of being a benchmark in highlighting the importance of the primary sector

Morella will host a new edition of the Fair on September 12th and 13th. As is traditional every second weekend of September, the primary sector will take center stage with the exhibition and sale of sheep, cattle and horses, as well as typical products from Els Ports and neighboring regions, featuring over 100 exhibitors. Once again, the Associació Firal Els Ports and the Morella City Council have expanded the program with the transhumance livestock entry, the sheepdog competition, a roundtable on truffles, pony handling and bullfighting events.

The Councilor for Rural Development and Environment, Ana Belén Soro, highlighted that "the primary sector and food production are very important for Morella and the entire region; they have been historically and continue to be so today." The councilor explained that "this year we have expanded the program, especially with bullfighting events throughout the weekend, including cows and the 'toro embolado' on Saturday, and a 'novillada sin picadores' on Sunday," adding that "there are also more traditional activities such as the transhumance livestock entry and the sheepdog competition, as well as other new features that aim to bring the primary sector closer to the public." Finally, Soro wished to "invite everyone to come on the 12th and 13th to the Feria de Morella, one of the oldest in the País Valencià, which continues with the strength it had in its origins, with agriculture and livestock as one of the main economic engines of the territory."

Jaume I granted the fair to the city of Morella in 1257, although new data places it as early as 1239, meaning it is close to completing eight centuries of history. This is a livestock fair that combines two traditions that brought fame to the medieval town: commerce and livestock farming. The city's commercial tradition is combined with the exhibition of select livestock, as well as tools, facilities and machinery for working in the sector. Currently, it is also a commercial and gastronomic showcase that takes advantage of the Espai Firal and the Alameda to display all the possibilities of this area.

Feria de Morella Program

The Feria de Morella 2026 begins with the parade and the opening ceremony starting at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, with the participation of authorities and the Asociación Musical Mestre Candel. Before that, at 10:30 a.m., the transhumance livestock entry with horses is scheduled from the caravan area to the fairgrounds. At 4:00 p.m., RUMICAS will conduct a technical visit to the fair with their veterinarian. At 5:00 p.m., the Espai Firal will host a roundtable titled "Black Truffle: Present, Past and Future." In addition, the bullring will host bullfighting and festive events during the afternoon and evening. Heifers starting at 5:30 p.m. and the trial of the bull to be embolado at night. There will also be an afternoon session with music at 8:00 p.m. and a cart for children at 11:30 p.m. Finally, the day will end with a mobile disco and heifers.

On Sunday, activities will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the sheepdog competition in the Alameda meadow. Afterwards, various showcookings have been scheduled at the Espai Firal. The closing of the fair, with raffles and the awards ceremony for the competition, will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Espai Firal.
