The “Quijote” Literary Association is once again holding its National Cervantes Conference in Villanueva de los Infantes

For the third consecutive year, Villanueva de los Infantes has hosted the National Cervantes Gathering. An initiative of the “Quijote” Literary Association, the event celebrated its fourth edition, bringing together more than 40 writers from various parts of Spain—representing five different literary associations—in this town in La Mancha.

The program of activities included music and poetry recitals, presentations and lectures, theater performances, and a Book Fair held on the town’s historic Cervantes Street. The events were attended by the mayor, Carmen María Montalbán; the councilor for Culture, Francisco Javier Peinado; and the councilor for Education and Equality of the Ciudad Real City Council, María José Escobedo.

Speakers and artists participating in the various activities included Isabel de Pedro Muñoz, director of the Zunzunegui Collection; actors and actresses Alberto Morate, Marisol Exro, Miguel Casas, and Maribel Muñoz; and musical accompaniment by the group “Besties.”

The “Quijote” Literary Association would like to express its gratitude for the participation and support this fourth edition of the National Cervantine Gathering has received. This event—whose most recent editions have been held in Villanueva de los Infantes—joins the various cultural initiatives that, throughout the year, continue to place the town at the center of the literary scene, reviving the role the town played as the cultural and spiritual hub of La Mancha during the Golden Age.
