Hita has been recognized as a Tourist Municipality of Castilla-La Mancha

On September 28, the Second Regional Tourism Forum, organized by the Castilla-La Mancha Regional Ministry of Economy, Business, and Employment, was held at the Parador de Sigüenza. The mayor of Hita, Ignacio Ayuso, received a plaque from the president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, designating us as a “Tourist Municipality”—a quality seal created to recognize the region’s most outstanding tourist destinations.

With this distinction, the regional government recognizes that our town possesses a heritage of great value, a robust tourism offering, and the ability to attract thousands of visitors. Hita has been designated a Historic Site since 1965 and has been part of the network of “The Most Beautiful Towns in Spain” since 2017. Its medieval festival was declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest in 1980 and a Site of Cultural Interest in 2021.
