The 4th Carinfa Wind Band Candlelight Concert Fills the Plaza Mayor in Villanueva de los Infantes

The Carinfa Wind Band Ensemble held its now-traditional Candlelight Concert in Villanueva de los Infantes for another year, marking its fourth edition this year. The iconic Plaza Mayor was the venue chosen for a very special evening dedicated to Latin music, which drew a large crowd and completely filled this iconic space.

During the concert, attendees enjoyed a varied repertoire that featured some of the greatest hits of Latin and Spanish music. The band performed such well-known songs as “Guantanamera,” made famous by Celia Cruz; “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi; “Bailando” by Enrique Iglesias; “Mentirosa” by Ráfaga; and the classic “Entre dos Aguas” by Paco de Lucía, as well as more contemporary pieces aimed at a younger audience.

The performance also featured, for the first time, three musicians from Villanueva de los Infantes, playing trumpet, baritone saxophone, and Latin percussion. These additions contribute to the ensemble’s growth and bring the Carinfa Wind Band ever closer to the format of a true big band.

The Carinfa Wind Band would like to thank the Villanueva de los Infantes City Council and the Department of Festivities, coordinated by Ana Belén Rodríguez Gallego, for their collaboration and support in making this fourth edition of the Concierto de las Velas possible, as well as the audience for their extraordinary reception and for once again filling the Plaza Mayor on a night dedicated to enjoying music in a unique setting.
