10 Sept 2026 · 11:37

Starting this Tuesday, September 1, a new team of archaeologists and conservators led by Esperanza Martín is returning to Poza de la Sal to continue the restoration and subsequent exhibition of the paintings and archaeological artifacts discovered at the Roman city of Flavia Augusta.

The initial goal is to restore the more than 5,000 pieces of 3rd-century AD Roman painting found at the site, with special emphasis on restoring the paintings excavated from the so-called “House of Flowers,” named for its profuse floral decoration.

In addition, the exhibition of the Roman artifacts excavated from the site will be progressively set up in an archaeological classroom dedicated to the ancient Roman city of Flavia Augusta.
