Arturo García Serrano showcases his artistic career at La Alhóndiga in Villanueva de los Infantes

The exhibition at La Alhóndiga brings together a wide variety of works that reflect the artist's evolution and the different styles he has explored over the years. Although the exhibition focuses primarily on drawing and illustration, it also incorporates more recent and innovative proposals, such as woodcut and sculpture.

The graphite pencil is one of the main hallmarks of García Serrano, who leans especially towards the surrealist style as a way of expressing certain human concerns and difficulties.  The exhibition allows visitors to appreciate both some of his earliest works and more recent pieces, thus showing the evolution of his artistic language and his interest in experimenting with new techniques and formats.

A psychologist by profession, García Serrano balances his professional activity with his passion for art. "I don't work in the art world full-time, although luckily I am able to dedicate more time to it," the artist stated, adding that "for me, making art is a very powerful way of expressing certain things that cannot be expressed in any other way." His drawings build visual narratives in which the recognizable blends with the ambiguous, inviting the viewer to discover new perspectives.

He currently resides in Maastricht (Netherlands), although he maintains a close connection with Villanueva de los Infantes, the town where his entire family originates. "I have a very strong connection with the town," he noted.

The inauguration of the exhibition was attended by the mayor of Villanueva de los Infantes, Carmen María Montalbán, and the Councilor for Culture and Tourism, Francisco Javier Peinado, as well as friends and family of the artist.

The exhibition will remain open to the public at La Alhóndiga in Villanueva de los Infantes until September 6, offering the opportunity to learn more about the artistic evolution of Arturo García Serrano and his different ways of understanding and exploring art.
