Ampudia Hosts the Northern Regional Assembly of Spain's Most Beautiful Towns

12 Sept 2026 · 15:32

There are encounters that aren’t measured by speeches, but by the way we sit together. On Saturday, September 12, Ampudia opened Tierra de Campos to host the Northern Regional Assembly of The Most Beautiful Towns in Spain. An event to take a closer look at one another, listen to one another, and continue to cherish what binds us together.

NORTHERN REGIONAL ASSEMBLY · SEPTEMBER 12

The northern part of the network gathered in Ampudia

Palencia provided the venue. What each person took away was the reminder that no town in the network works alone.

WHO ATTENDED

The towns from across the Northern Region

Representatives from the towns of the autonomous communities and provinces that make up the Northern Region were present: a vast geographical area that, for one day a year, fits around a single table.

Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, the Basque Country, La Rioja, Burgos, Palencia, León
WHAT WAS DISCUSSED

The Immediate Future and What Lies Ahead

The General Assembly in Alcúdia The next General Assembly will be held in Alcúdia, in the Balearic Islands, from October 23 to 25. In Ampudia, preparations for this shared goal have already begun.
The Challenges Facing Our Towns Discussions focused on the concerns of the municipalities in the network: the day-to-day life of small towns, services, heritage, and the way of life that must be preserved once visitors have left.
This Summer’s Tourism Summer brings lessons. Participants shared their experiences of the season: the joy of bustling streets and also the responsibility to welcome visitors warmly, without losing each town’s unique character.
The “Club of the Most Beautiful ” The “Club of the Most Beautiful” also had its moment: the community of travelers who want to explore the network at a more leisurely pace and support the towns throughout the year, not just in August.
Social Media Sharing who we are is also part of the job. We’ve discussed the association’s social media channels and how each town can have its own voice without diluting the brand that unites us.
Regional Associations The network is reaching out to the regions. We discussed the momentum behind the new regional associations and the benefits they bring to the towns that are joining: greater proximity, shared strength, and a closer home from which to defend what is uniquely theirs.
WHAT REMAINS ALIVE

From Ampudia to Alcúdia, the conversation continues

The Northern Regional Assembly doesn’t bring a year to a close—it sets the course. The 126 towns of Spain’s Most Beautiful Towns continue on their path, and the next major gathering of the entire network already has a name and dates: Alcúdia, October 23–25.
