THE THREE HEAVENS
Within the municipality of Poza, there are a total of three distinct ecosystems, each with its own unique flora and fauna, which the local naturalist Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente dubbed “Los Tres Cielos” (The Three Skies).
The first "sky" is the town of Poza itself, where the landscape of the Bureba Valley predominates.
The second sky is the salt pan, where the white mineral played a significant role in the town’s economic and social life, but also shaped another ecosystem of rodents, birds of prey, and mustelids that inhabit this salt crater.
The third heaven is the Páramo de Masa, where the blowing wind and extreme temperatures—due to its altitude of over 1,100 meters—mean that animals such as rabbits, wildcats, and partridges thrive in this inhospitable landscape
