Great Alqueva Lake

The Great Lake of Alqueva, formed following the construction of the dam on the Guadiana River, extends into the municipality of Olivenza at its downstream end, particularly in the area around Villarreal, which is renowned for its unique natural beauty and the sweeping views it offers of the lake and the village of Juromenha (Portugal).

Among the many activities available is a hike along the Ecofluvial Corridor, a 19-kilometer loop trail where you can also see the curious Ajuda Bridge.
