Trail to the Ruins ofHita Castle

The trail leads from the historic district to the summit of the hill known as “Hita.” Here lie the archaeological remains of the ancient fortress of the Marquis of Santillana. From this summit, you can enjoy an excellent panoramic view of the Henares Valley, with the Sierra de Guadalajara and the Sierra de Guadarrama to the west and the Alcarria mountain range to the east.

Elevation gain: 133 meters.

Difficulty: medium-high. This is a narrow, rocky trail.
