39th La Alpujarra Crafts, Organic Farming, and Ecotourism Fair

This morning, Pampaneira unveiled the official poster for the 39th La Alpujarra Fair of Handicrafts, Organic Agriculture, and Ecotourism, which will be held in our municipality from October 9 to 12, 2026.

The poster, designed by Mauricio Hernán Parodi—known artistically as Mauro Parodi—offers a glimpse of Pampaneira inspired by the spirit of romantic travelers, who discovered a region through its landscapes, people, and customs.

The illustration depicts a traveler gazing at Pampaneira and the Sierra Nevada while, at his feet, the village transforms into a lively festival. Artisans, looms and rugs, pottery, local produce, and visitors come together to create a scene that represents the three pillars of this event: handicrafts, organic agriculture, and ecotourism.

Now in its 39th edition, the Pampaneira Crafts Fair is approaching four decades of history as the oldest crafts fair in the province of Granada. Throughout its history, it has established itself as a leader in promoting crafts, organic agriculture, local products, and sustainable tourism that respects the local environment. This same description of the fair—as the oldest in the province and a benchmark for these sectors—was already included in the information published by Turismo de Pampaneira in the previous edition.

This year’s edition will once again fill the streets of Pampaneira with artisans, producers, and visitors, accompanied by workshops, demonstrations, music, cultural activities, and events linked to the products and traditions of La Alpujarra. The full program will be announced shortly.

The mayor of Pampaneira, Ángel Pérez, stated, “We wanted this year’s poster to convey more than just a fair and to reflect the experience of coming to Pampaneira, discovering our landscape, our crafts, and our way of life. This fair speaks to who we are, our traditions, and also how we want to build the future of our villages.”

The event is scheduled for October 9–12, 2026, when Pampaneira will once again open its streets to residents and visitors to celebrate crafts, organic farming, and ecotourism in the heart of La Alpujarra.
