The adventure begins at the imposing Church of Our Lady of Mercy, a Gothic church built in 1376 whose façade marks the transition to this architectural style. The tour will surprise you with its distinctive octagonal bell tower, true to the Levantine tradition, and its beautiful Chapel of the Communion. Its interior, rebuilt in the Neoclassical style after a fire in 1850, also houses some valuable choir books.

We’ll continue our journey by heading to the Church of San Bernabé, located in the charming village of Corcolilla. This church stands out for its majestic dome and, most notably, for housing the Chapel of the Virgin of Consolation, the beloved patron saint of Alpuente, whose iconic image takes center stage during the eagerly anticipated pilgrimages of the “fiestas gordas” held every three years in the municipality.

To round off the tour in style, we’ll visit the Church of San Miguel Arcángel in the hamlet of El Collado. Here, visitors will be left speechless by its spectacular Gothic altarpiece, considered one of the finest examples of Levantine Gothic architecture.
