The Santillana del Mar City Council and the Department of Culture are pleased to invite you to the solo exhibition by master landscape painter Joan Coloma. The exhibition, which features a carefully curated selection of his most recent oil paintings, will be held in the Exhibition Hall of the Jesús Otero Museum from August 31 to September 13.
Joan Coloma, a painter from Alicante with deep ties to the landscape of northern Spain, transports us through his work to the most pristine corners of the Cantabrian region, masterfully capturing the essence of the Saja River and the majesty of the Picos de Europa.
Joan Coloma’s painting stands out for its impeccable treatment of natural light and his absolute mastery of the damp and ever-changing atmosphere of the Cantabrian landscape. His oil paintings on canvas dispense with the superfluous to focus on the vibrancy of color, water, and fog.
