Night of the White Souls

Next Sunday, November 1, 2026, Mogarraz will celebrate the Night of the White Souls, one of its most unique and moving traditions, linked to the feast of All Saints and the remembrance of deceased loved ones.

During this celebration, the town’s cobblestone streets will be lit by numerous candles, creating an atmosphere of contemplation and tradition. Residents and visitors will be able to take part in a procession that revives ancient folk customs related to the veneration of souls and the memory of those who are no longer with us.

The event will be accompanied by traditional prayers sung by Antonio Cea, which will help keep the cultural and spiritual legacy of this celebration alive. The event will conclude with a community hot chocolate gathering in Plaza del Solano, providing an opportunity for attendees to socialize.

• 8:00 p.m. | Tour begins: Departure from Plaza del Solano toward the Humilladero to meet the traditional “mozas de ánimas.”

• During the procession | Traditional prayers: Performance of the prayers sung by Antonio Cea, accompanying this celebration dedicated to the memory of the deceased.

• At the end | Community hot chocolate gathering: Gathering in Plaza del Solano to share hot chocolate and bring the celebration to a close.
