Based on the novel *The Lady of the Camellias* by Alexandre Dumas, fils, *La Traviata* tells the story of Violetta Valéry, a famous Parisian courtesan who discovers true love with Alfredo Germont. However, the social conventions and prejudices of the time will put their relationship to the test, forcing Violetta to face a difficult decision marked by sacrifice and renunciation.
Over the course of three acts, the opera takes the audience on an intense emotional journey in which love, honor, illness, and redemption intertwine, culminating in one of the most moving conclusions in the entire history of opera. With extraordinarily expressive music, Giuseppe Verdi crafts a deeply human portrait that continues to move audiences more than a century and a half after its premiere.
