Opening of the exhibition "Maternitat. Una mirada artística", by Sara Bellés

The MACVAC presents the exhibition «Maternidad, una mirada artística» («Motherhood, an Artistic Gaze»), by artist Sara Bellés, a project that brings together the visual representation of her personal experience of motherhood and that can be visited at the Sala Quatre Cantons in Vilafamés from 7 November to 6 December 2026.

Through her works, Sara Bellés offers an intimate journey through the transformations she has experienced as a mother and as an artist. The exhibition revives a creative period in which her son became the center of her artistic universe, with close to a hundred pieces dedicated to observing, depicting and preserving those childhood moments that inevitably pass. A body of work that, seen from the present, takes on new meanings with the arrival of a second daughter and the evolution of her own maternal experience.

The exhibition invites reflection on motherhood as a process of continuous learning, on the passage of time, family bonds and the transformation of personal identity. A sensitive gaze that connects artistic creation with an intimate and, at the same time, universal experience.

The exhibition is framed within the Congreso de Maternidad, Salud, Igualdad y Prevención («Congress on Motherhood, Health, Equality and Prevention»), which will also take place in Vilafamés and which, during the afternoon, will complement the programme with a space for meeting and reflection on these issues.
