On October 17, 2026, Potes will host the First Liébana Tambourine Festival, an event dedicated to celebrating and preserving the region’s traditional music, crafts, and cultural roots.
The program will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a fair featuring female artisans and rural women, followed by the story “The Origin of the Tambourine,” narrated by Lines Vejo, and a lively traditional parade that will fill the town’s streets with music.
In the afternoon, attendees can enjoy an open-air stage starting at 4:30 p.m., followed by a heartfelt tribute to Lines Vejo and Conchi García at 6:00 p.m. The day will culminate at 7:00 p.m. with a performance by the group Saltabardales.
This is an opportunity to discover the traditions of Liébana, enjoy folk music, and highlight the role of women in preserving cultural heritage.
