The Church of San Agustín, which once belonged to the Convent of the Blessed Sacrament founded by the Order of Saint Augustine, dates from the first half of the 18th century and is one of the most significant examples of the Baroque period’s heyday in Ciudad Real.
This weekend, the original parchment document from King Sancho III of Castile will be on display; it contains the royal deed of donation of the town to the Cistercian Order, represented by Abbot Raimundo de Fitero.
Pianist Alfonso Candelas will perform a program featuring works by Jean-Philippe Rameau, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Modest Mussorgsky.
