Festivities in Honor of the Virgin of the Assumption

Sunday, August 2
The festival committee and the town council will parade through the entire town to perform the traditional “Arreplegà,” accompanied by the “xirimita” and the “tabalet.”
FRIDAY, August 14. “The Eve.”
5:00 a.m. We invite the entire town to join us in singing the traditional “La Aurora.” Afterward, there will be hot chocolate.
10:00 a.m. “Despertà” with the “xirimita and tabalet” through the town’s streets to the “Sant Gregori” square.
11:30 a.m. In the schoolyard, the 43rd Children’s Drawing Contest, with prizes awarded to all participants. Refreshments and ice cream will be provided by Cafetería Levante.
1:00 p.m. Grand bell-ringing, fireworks, and a parade featuring the “xirimita and tabalet” to remind everyone that, “LET’S ALL GET THE PARTY STARTED NOW!”
2:00 p.m. As tradition dictates, the 40th “Xinos” Championship at Venta Guadalest, accompanied by snacks and beer for all participants.
At the end, an awards ceremony for the winners, with a gift from Venta Guadalest.
7:00 p.m. Parade led by the Tàrbena Band.
8:00 p.m. Third presentation of the “Festerets 2026” in Plaza de La Era.
9:00 p.m. Traditional procession of our patron saint, the Virgin of the Assumption, from Casa Orduña to her church, accompanied by the Tàrbena Band.
10:30 p.m. Reception hosted by the El Castell de Guadalest City Council in the parking lot.
12:00 a.m. We’ll all enjoy the first night of the festival together with the incredible LA FLAMA orchestra.
SATURDAY, August 15. “The Festival.”
10:00 a.m. “Despertà” with the ringing of bells, fireworks, and a parade featuring the Tàrbena marching band.
12:00 p.m. Traditional floral offering to our patron saint, the Virgin of the Assumption, followed by High Mass, sung by the ORFEÓN MARE NOSTRUM choir, sponsored by the Provincial Council of Alicante.
1:30 p.m. Parade led by the Tàrbena marching band.
1:45 p.m. “Mini Mascletà” at the playground.
4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Children’s water park at the sports center.
7:00 p.m. “Albades” performance through the town’s streets.
9:30 p.m. Sausage barbecue in the parking lot. Price: 10 euros per person. Contact the festival organizers to sign up before August 10.
11:30 p.m. Come dance in the parking lot with the MACRODISCOMÓVIL AFRICANIA—a world first, guaranteed to be a spectacular show with plenty of surprises.
SUNDAY, August 16. “SANT ROC.”
10:30 a.m. “Despertà” with a grand bell-ringing ceremony, fireworks, and a parade led by the Tàrbena marching band.
12:30 p.m. High Mass in honor of “Sant Roc,” accompanied by “La Rondalla.”
1:30 p.m. Parade led by the Tàrbena marching band.
5:00 p.m. Climbing games at the playground, accompanied by the Tàrbena marching band.
7:00 p.m. Performance by the Tàrbena marching band in “Sant Gregori” Square. Everyone, come dance the pasodoble!
12:00 a.m. We encourage you to let your imagination run wild and participate in the big “Costume Party”; it will begin with a parade from “Bassó” to the parking lot, accompanied by the Tàrbena Marching Band. We’ll award €300 and a surprise prize to the first-place winner, €200 to the second-place winner, and €100 to the third-place winner.
In addition, gifts will be handed out to all children in costume. We’ll dance nonstop to the music of THE MATRIX ORCHESTRA.
MONDAY, AUGUST 17
10:30 a.m. Final “despertà” with the ringing of bells, fireworks, and a parade led by the Tàrbena marching band.
12:30 p.m. High Mass in honor of Our Lady of Sorrows, with singing by the Bach Duo of Altea.
1:30 p.m. Parade led by the Tàrbena marching band.
7:30 p.m. Parade led by the Tàrbena marching band.
8:30 p.m. Solemn procession in honor of our patron saint, the Virgin of the Assumption, through the town’s streets, accompanied by the “La Paz” marching band.
During the procession, the San Juan Choir will sing in honor of our patron saint. Event sponsored by the El Castell de Guadalest City Council.
10:30 p.m. Nighttime “Mascletà” fireworks display by Aitana Pyrotechnics. Event sponsored by the Provincial Tourism Board.
12:30 a.m. To bring our festivities to a close, we’ll enjoy a performance by the NO COMMENT orchestra
in the parking lot.
