Evento: 15 Jul 2026 — 16 Jul 2026
Our Lady of Mount Carmel is the patron saint of the people of Rubielos, which is why her feast day is celebrated on July 16, marking the first highlight of the summer festival season.
On the 15th at 1:00 p.m., the festivities in honor of the Virgin of Carmen begin with the ringing of the bells.
Among the most popular events is the Farol parade, where 18-year-olds celebrate their “quinta” by taking it out to “dance” through the town’s streets on the evening before the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
On the 16th, at 12:00 p.m., Mass is held in honor of the Virgin of Carmen; in the afternoon, another of the most popular festivities is undoubtedly the “toro de soga.” This tradition involves parading through the town’s streets with the bull tied to a single 33-meter rope, which is held by seven rope-handlers.
At 8:30 p.m., the procession and solemn prayer to Our Lady of Mount Carmel take place.
At 10:30 p.m., there is a parade with the marching band, followed by the “toro embolado” (fireball bull).
The evening concludes with a street festival featuring the Pompeya Orchestra and a mobile disco.
