2026 Pepper Fair Programme

Wednesday, September 2nd

10:00 a.m. Visit to the pepper plantations. Bus departure from the roundabout on the Valdepeñas road. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Price: €3 / person.

Upon our return, we will have lunch together in the courtyard of the old Colegio Sagrado Corazón and enjoy the activity prepared by Merceduka and Anacuka – “Stories from the Field”.

Thursday, September 3rd

10:30 a.m. Cheese-making workshop, 100% participatory. Participants will make their own cheese guided by master cheesemakers and will be able to take it home. Maximum group size: 16 people. Age: 6 years and older.

Workshop led by Jesús (Master Cheesemaker) and Raquel (PhD in Agricultural Science and Engineering).

Friday, September 4th

7:00 p.m. Opening of the traditional Manchego Market.

8:30 p.m. Inaugural Parade.

Featuring representatives from Turinfa cm, the Cruz de Santiago, and municipal authorities. Route: C/ Cervantes, from Plaza de San Juan to Plaza Mayor.

9:00 p.m. Plaza Mayor. Inaugural Proclamation of the “XXIII Pepper Fair, Manchego Market and XXII Folklore Days 2026”, by Mr. José Antonio Medina Rubio (Manager of Coto de Quevedo), with speeches by the Mayoress and the Vice President of Turinfa cm.

Tribute to local representatives from different sectors.

10:00 p.m. XXII National Folklore Festival “Campo de Montiel”.

Saturday, September 5th

10:00 a.m. Solidarity March in aid of the Cancer Association. Non-competitive march, suitable for all ages. Start and finish: Paseo de la Constitución. T-shirt sales.

Following this, a Zumba session led by the BE FIT CENTRO DEPORTIVO INFANTES gym. At the end, we will enjoy a healthy breakfast.

11:00 a.m. Opening of the traditional Manchego Market.

11:00 a.m.: Reception of the groups participating in the XXII National Folklore Festival.

Location: Ethnographic Museum of the Hospital de Santiago.

11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Theatrical Route through the streets and monuments of Villanueva de los Infantes. Maximum group size: 40 people.

5:00 p.m. “Cutting” of the peppers for the Giant Pisto. Entertainment by the “Los sociables” brass band and theatrical animation. Location: Los Silos.

7:00 p.m. AFTERNOON SESSION at Plaza de la Fuente Vieja. DJ “Gonzalo Bustos”

9:00 p.m. Parade with the groups participating in the XXII National Folklore Festival.

Location: From Plaza de San Juan to Plaza Mayor.

9:30 p.m.: Presentation of the groups participating in the XXII National Folklore Festival.

10:00 p.m.: XXII National Folklore Festival “Campo de Montiel”.

7:00 a.m. Start of the preparation of the Giant Pisto. Plaza Fuente Vieja.

11:00 a.m. Opening of the traditional Manchego Market. Featuring Don Quixote and Sancho.

1:00 p.m. Inaugural Parade. Route: C/ Rey Juan Carlos, from Plaza Mayor to Plaza de la Fuente Vieja.

Composed of authorities and representatives from Turinfa cm and other associations.

1:00 p.m. Special Performance: Vocals by “Prado Reyes”. Guitar by “Sergio Rodríguez”. Plaza de la Fuente Vieja.

2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tasting of our Great Pisto.

3:30 p.m. Performance by ISMAEL DORADO, (Saxophonist).

Location: Plaza de la Fuente Vieja.

4:00 p.m. Raffle for two one-week stays in Zahara de los Atunes, donated by Viajes Himalaya, for those holding a ticket for the pisto ration. Winners must be present at the time of the draw. Location: Plaza de la Fuente Vieja.

6:00 p.m. Performance by RAUL MERINO.

9:00 p.m. Folk Concert.
