Did you know that we currently know of nearly 6,000 planets located outside our Solar System? How is it possible to discover worlds hundreds or thousands of light-years away? And what do we know about their climates, their atmospheres, or the possibility that they might resemble Earth?

Next Thursday, August 6, at 8:00 p.m., the Valderrobres Cultural Center will host the public lecture “Exoplanets: Exploring New Worlds Beyond the Solar System,” presented by astrophysicist Clàudia Soriano, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Southampton (United Kingdom) and a specialist in the study of exoplanet atmospheres using numerical simulations.

Through an engaging presentation accessible to all audiences, we will discover how astronomers detect these distant worlds, what types of exoplanets exist, and how current research is expanding our knowledge of the universe day by day.

Clàudia Soriano, who hails from Valderrobres, combines her research work with extensive science outreach and has recently been recognized with various awards, including her inclusion on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Spain 2026 list.
