CORRIDA DE LA CUCHARA 2026

A sporting event with many centuries of history, organized by the Aínsa-Sobrarbe City Council with the collaboration of the Club Atlético Sobrarbe since its foundation in 1976.

The cash prizes remain the same as in 2023, as detailed below:

“In this year 2026, as was done in the last editions, those born in 2014 and 2015 may participate, provided they are accompanied by an adult and under the latter's full responsibility.”        

Prizes will not be cumulative, except for the Regional Spoon, provided that the winner has not also obtained the Spoon in the absolute category. The Organization shall have the authority, in case of discrepancy and if necessary, to decide the prize to be awarded to the winners in the different categories.

As in previous years, all participants in the Corrida la Cuchara will receive a commemorative t-shirt alluding to this ancient race (it is among the top five in the ranking of the oldest races still held today), and a surprise gift for all the children in the Corridas de la Cuchareta.

REGISTRATION:

Registration is free and can be done until 24:00 ON SEPTEMBER 12 (Saturday), provided that the 80 MAXIMUM PLACES PLANNED have not been filled, by sending your FULL NAME, date of birth, ID number (NIF), address and town, phone number, and the Club you belong to (if any) to the Club Atlético Sobrarbe email:  clubcas@gmail.com (those who have participated in other years only need to indicate their wish to participate, as we already have your details from previous years).

Participants in the regional subcategory must indicate this at the time of registration, stating whether they are regional by birth or by residence.

Regional and/or youth runners may register, provided the maximum of 80 entries has not yet been reached, up to one hour before the start of the race, THAT IS UNTIL 5:00 PM on Monday, September 14th, at the starting point, very close to the CASETA DE PASCUALILLO, next to the Public Works warehouse (200 meters from the bridge over the Ena), but to avoid the last-minute problems of previous years, we kindly ask that you register in the same way and within the deadline indicated for the rest of the runners.

Runners who arrive after 5:00 PM without having registered in advance may still participate, but without a race bib and without the right to the detailed prizes or the commemorative t-shirt if there are not enough for everyone.

STARTING POINT AND ROUTE:

THE START, as in recent years, will take place next to the Public Works warehouse, very close to the CASETA DE PASCUALILLO (just 200 meters from the starting point used in recent years at the bridge over the Ena), AT 6:00 PM (6 IN THE EVENING), at the third "rocket" fired from the Plaza Mayor, following the ringing of the bells at around a quarter to six in the evening. The 3 aforementioned warnings (rocket launches) will be: the first three minutes before the start time, the second one minute before, and the third at 6:00 PM (6 IN THE EVENING).

The route will be the same as in recent years, starting next to the Public Works warehouse, very close to the Caseta de Pascualillo, heading towards the Guaso road and the Ena bridge, then turning left to go down the embankment, which replaces the old path of the “Alamera” orchards in Aínsa, arriving at the roundabout parking lot by the bus stop, the bridge over the Ara river, crossing the roads turning left as always, and about a hundred meters further on, to the right, the slope up to the old town, facing the final stretch via the stairs located to the right at the end of it, and continuing along the road until reaching the Plaza Mayor, crossing it and going down Calle Mayor to the Plaza de San Salvador, to turn left and go up Calle Santa Cruz and finish at the finish line by the holm oak in the Plaza Mayor.

Registered runners must arrive at the starting point, very close to LA CASETA DE PASCUALILLO, at least half an hour before the start of the race for identification and collection of race bibs.

The route is very close to 3 kilometers in total distance.

The presentation of the Cucharas (sponsored by Regalos Lascorz since 1971 inclusive), prizes, gifts, and trophies will take place in the Plaza Mayor next to the holm oak, at the end of the Corrida de la Cuchara.

CORRIDAS DE LA CUCHARETA

As in recent years, after the Corrida de la Cuchara, at around 6:40 PM, the Corridas de la Cuchareta will take place for the children of Aínsa, our region, and those visiting us, in the following three categories:

Born in the years 2014, 2015, and 2016

Born in the years 2017, 2018, and 2019

Born in the year 2020 and later.

Registration can be done in the Plaza Mayor, starting at 5:00 PM.
