Evento: 12 Aug 2026
On August 12, 2026, our sky will be the setting for one of the most fascinating and historic astronomical events of this century: a total solar eclipse. For a few magical minutes, the Moon will align perfectly between the Earth and the Sun, completely covering it and plunging us into an unforgettable twilight in broad daylight.
Thanks to its privileged location and unobstructed horizons, Calaceite will become one of the region’s best spots to witness this phenomenon in all its glory.
To ensure that both our residents and visiting guests can enjoy this unique experience in a comfortable, organized, and safe manner, the City Council has designed a special transportation plan and designated specific viewing areas.
Prepared Areas and Infrastructure
🟢 Trails and viewing areas (in green): We have prepared and equipped the nature trails facing north and northwest of the town center. These trails offer unobstructed views, free from light pollution and architectural obstacles, making them the perfect vantage point for the eclipse.
♿ Designated spot for people with limited mobility (in blue): Accessibility is a priority so that no one misses this historic event. We have reserved a priority access point—flat and with optimal visibility—specially equipped for people with disabilities or limited mobility.
🔴 Designated parking area (in red): To prevent congestion in the historic center and ensure pedestrian safety, an official regulated parking area has been set up in the southern part of town.
⚠️ Important Notice: Traffic Restrictions and Access to Heritage Sites
Temporary closure: From August 7 through August 18, access to the San Antonio Iberian Settlement and the San Cristóbal Chapel will be closed to the public.
Vehicle Ban: Vehicle access to these areas will not be permitted under any circumstances during the aforementioned period. We ask for your full cooperation and request that you use only the alternative parking areas we have provided.
