Andalucía Slow Fest 2026

The festival of good living in Granada’s La Alpujarra region marks its fifth edition, with the Cittaslow twinning of Bubión and La Orotava as the main event

The Bubión City Council, the only Cittaslow municipality in Andalusia, announces the fifth edition of the Andalucía Slow Fest, the festival of good living that, over three days, transforms this corner of Granada’s Alpujarra into a gathering place for culture, gastronomy, crafts, and music. The festival will take place on July 17, 18, and 19, 2026, in Bubión, with free admission to all events.

The big news for this year’s festival is the Cittaslow twinning between Bubión and La Orotava (Tenerife), scheduled for Saturday, July 18, at 10:00 p.m. The event will be attended by the president of the Cittaslow Spain network, Ms. Alaitz Erkoreka Baraiazarra, and the councilor for Tourism of La Orotava, Ms. Delia Escobar. This twinning symbolizes the union of the only two Cittaslow municipalities in southern Spain: two regions that, from opposite ends of the country, share the same philosophy of a slow, mindful, and sustainable way of life.

The Andalucía Slow Fest was launched in 2022 with the goal of positioning Bubión as a leader in slow tourism in Andalusia. Four editions later, the festival has established its own cultural model: unhurried, rooted in tradition, and set against the backdrop of the Barranco del Poqueira landscape.

11:00 a.m. Little Creators — Children’s workshop. A morning of imagination, art, and fun
1:00 p.m. Savour the good life. Gastronomic tasting featuring local products and traditions with Sabor Granada
6:00 p.m. “Between Threads and Silences.” Memory and identity of the Moorish women of La Alpujarra
8:00 p.m. Poqueira in Clave de Arte. An encounter with creativity, emotion, and heritage
