Christmas is a time of year when Sepúlveda is bursting with life. Despite the cold winter, many residents of Sepulveda and tourists choose our town as their destination for their Christmas vacation.

For this reason, there are numerous activities taking place during this time.

Theatrical performances, magic shows, movies, Christmas workshops, carols, music, children’s activities, the fun San Silvestre race in Sepúlveda on the morning of December 31, and the town’s beautiful Three Kings Parade.

Every January 5, around 6:30 p.m., children and adults begin to gather in the Plaza de España to await the Parade of Their Majesties the Three Wise Men from the East.

To make the wait more enjoyable, the children from the school in Sepúlveda stage a live Nativity scene, beginning with the departure of Joseph and Mary from Nazareth and ending with the birth of Jesus in the stable in Bethlehem.

The Christmas carols setting the mood give way to the sound of the Civil Guard’s siren, announcing that the Three Wise Men are entering the square. Confetti and streamers accompany the arrival of the royal procession. Following the Civil Guard’s car come the majorettes, the Sepúlveda Music Group, and the Star of the East. Next, the parade of the royal floats begins. Leading the procession is the Royal Postman, who had stopped by Sepúlveda a few days earlier to collect the letters. Behind them come the most eagerly awaited figures: the three Wise Men. As one would expect, Melchior leads the way, followed by Gaspar, with Balthazar bringing up the rear. All three are accompanied by their respective pages. The three floats are magnificently escorted by the Hebrew Guard.

Next comes the gift truck: hundreds of packages that the Three Kings will distribute throughout the night are piled high on the city hall truck. And behind it, the characters that delight the little ones. There are the classics: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto… And the modern favorites: Hello Kitty, Pocoyo, SpongeBob… Not a single one is missing!

The majorettes perform with great professionalism, accompanied by the always vibrant music of the “Sepúlveda” Musical Group. And the entire procession arrives once again at the square. Their Majesties step down from their floats to pay homage to the Baby Jesus. From there, they proceed—perfectly escorted by the Hebrew guard—to the castle, where they are received by local authorities and from where they will greet everyone in attendance.
