Price:

General – 3 euros.

Reduced – 2.5 euros (seniors over 65, children between 6 and 16 years old, student card holders under 25, Carnet Jove, people with disabilities, and large families).

Groups – 2 euros (more than 25 people).

Free admission for children under 6 accompanied by an adult and accredited teachers.

Additional information

This is not an accessible monument, as there are stairs before the entrance door and access to upper floors without an elevator. Pets are not allowed.

History

Discover the fascinating universe of dinosaurs and their history in this museum. Morella and Els Ports is a land of strata that were formed between the Upper Jurassic and the Lower Cretaceous, between 146 and 98 million years ago.

Water once covered these valleys, which have left behind abundant and valuable remains of marine fauna and calcareous algae. In the Cretaceous period, in the Morella area, evolution led to the formation of clays, a characteristic that has allowed for the presence of numerous dinosaur remains.

For decades, paleontologists have been exploring and discovering these treasures, dinosaur bones, highlighting the most frequently found and studied species, the Iguanodon. In this museum, we can enjoy a life-size reproduction of this imposing animal that once inhabited these lands. Along with the Iguanodon, Morella possesses much more paleontological wealth, from carnivorous theropods to enormous herbivores, ornithopods, and armored dinosaurs.
