Provincial Council of Jaén
The gala took place in Baños de la Encina, at the foot of Burgalimar Castle, as part of World Tourism Day. Francisco Mestre Acosta covered the event. The award recognizes efforts to promote small municipalities. Baños de la Encina and Segura de la Sierra are featured online. Multimedia Jiennense, Orellana Perdiz, and the Hotel Torres were also in the spotlight that evening.
1st Charity Tourism Gala
It was presented by Pablo Cebolla, the gala’s director. José Manuel Parada and María del Carmen Martínez-Villaseñor served as hosts. The event raised funds for the Ciudad Escuela de los Muchachos in Leganés. At the time, the association was speaking on behalf of 105 mayors.
Cadena SER · Tourism category
The gala was held at the Auditori i Palau de Congressos in Castelló. The jury had announced the winner of the Tourism category in September. The trophy is a sculpture of a radio, created by Marcelo Díaz. The association’s press release states that Iker Llano, general director of Intur, presented the trophy to Francisco Mestre on behalf of the 104 mayors and, in particular, on behalf of Peñíscola, Morella, Vilafamés, and Culla.
Armazón Association
The award was presented by Margarita Asuar, president of the Armazón Association, for highlighting rural towns at risk of depopulation. At that time, the network comprised 104 municipalities.
Association of Foreign Press Correspondents · International Journalism Awards
The gala was held at the Cecilio Rodríguez Gardens in Madrid’s El Retiro Park. Enrique Sancho, secretary of the ACPE, presented Francisco Mestre with the trophy designed by sculptor Santiago de Santiago. The award recognizes quality tourism in little-known towns. At that time, the network comprised 94 towns. The ceremony, originally scheduled for May, had been postponed due to the pandemic.
COPE Castellón Radio Station · National Tourism Promotion
The ceremony took place at 7:30 p.m. at the CDT in Grao de Castellón. The association received the National Tourism Promotion Award for its work in promoting small towns, particularly rural ones. At that time, the network included, among others, Morella, Peñíscola, and Vilafamés.
Association of Tourism Business Owners of Morella and the Surrounding Region · 26th edition
The annual award from the tourism entrepreneurs of Morella and the Els Ports region was presented to the association in 2017. Joaquín Deusdad, then president of ASETMICO, presided over the ceremony, and Francisco Mestre accepted the award. They cited the association’s contribution to promoting Morella and the region as tourist destinations as the reason for the award. At that time, the network comprised 57 towns.
