THE SCARRETTE
The Festival of Cultural Interest inPoza de la Sal is celebrated in February as part of the San Blás festivities. It is a traditional dance performed by the young men and women of the town, dressed in traditional costume. They stand with swords in hand and dance on one leg around a rooster and a rabbit tied in the center of the square, chasing them around. At the end of the dance with the animals, they are taken back by the Brotherhood of San Blas, and the young men and women perform a dance in pairs.
