The town of Morella is set to have a very special 2029 with the celebration of the Announcement of the 56th Sexenni. This festival will take place on Sunday, August 26, and, as its name suggests, will announce the start of the six-year cycle with an opening speech followed by a massive confetti battle in which the entire town participates. As a result, more than 1,500 people are expected to participate in the costume parade featuring 40 floats. More than 60 metric tons of confetti will flood the town’s streets in an explosion of joy, color, tradition, and celebration that marks the announcement, attracting approximately 40,000 visitors. This festival has been designated a Representative Manifestation of Spain’s Intangible Cultural Heritage, a Festival of National Tourist Interest, and an Asset of Intangible Cultural Interest.
