The Explorer Map: Spain Transformed into a Living Map
Discover cultural heritage, nature, places to eat, stay, and shop all on a single Club map, complete with layers, proximity features, and details to help you keep exploring.
The Explorer Map brings together in a single view what makes the Club unique: landmarks, nature, establishments with special perks, and extraordinary places. It’s not the public map of the towns in the network—it’s the map to help you discover what to see, eat, or stay at along your trip.
Heritage, nature, and amenities all on one map
Turn on only what interests you. Some layers appear when you zoom in so as not to clutter the map. The counts change with the actual catalog: there is no fixed number of pins.
Monuments and Culture
The Club’s tourist attractions: churches, castles, museums, and other cultural sites. On the website, you can filter the Association’s TOP selection and monuments linked to specific towns.
Nature
Waterfalls, scenic overlooks, beaches, caves, and other geolocated natural attractions. Perfect for planning an outdoor getaway.
Dining, Lodging, and Shopping
Club establishments with photos and, where applicable, member benefits. Singular and Selection have their own tabs for extraordinary places.
It starts right where you are
Near Me / Near You
With location permission enabled, the map centers on your location. In the app, “Near You” can also list nearby resources you haven’t visited yet so you can choose your next pin.
Zoom in
Landmarks and nature are visible at a higher zoom level; dining, lodging, and shopping require a lower zoom level. If you don’t see any establishments, zoom in on the map—it doesn’t mean there aren’t any.
This isn’t “What’s Near Me”
The list of nearby towns and natural attractions that appears after “Geolocate Me” is a different shortcut. The explorer is the map with layers; that list is a quick reference.
Tap, read, and decide on your next step
In the app: Club → Explorer Map. On the website: /club/map or My Account → Club → Map, while logged in.
Enable monuments, nature, or perks. On the website, you can use a preset to get started faster.
Tap Near Me / Near You or move the map to the area you’re interested in.
Tap a pin: you’ll see the name, context, and the “View Details” button. On the website, you’ll also see “Directions.”
Who can access it and what it doesn’t promise
The /map URL shows certified towns. The explorer is located at /club/map (website) and in the Explorer Map (app).
The Explorer does not send stops to the route builder. Exploring and planning a route are complementary features.
The native map requires the app with Mapbox. If you open an environment without a native map, the experience will redirect you to the web or prompt you to install the app.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the same map as the one for the towns in the network?
No. The public map of towns is at /map. The Club’s explorer map is at /club/map (web) and under Club → Explorer Map (app).
Can I access it without being a member?
On the website, you need to log in. In the app, the Explorer Map is designed for Club members. Without an account, there is no anonymous Explorer mode.
Can I validate a visit from the map?
No. The pin takes you to the listing and information page. To track your progress, use the QR scanner or geolocation in the verified visit flows.
Why don’t I see restaurants or hotels?
The “Eat,” “Sleep,” and “Shop” layers are activated separately and require zooming in further. Zoom in on the map and turn on the corresponding layer.
Does it include events, POIs, or multi-experiences?
Currently, the explorer focuses on tourist attractions, natural sites, and establishments (plus Singular and Selection). There are no event or POI layers on this map.
Can I use it to create an itinerary?
It helps you discover places. To plan an itinerary between towns or stops, use “Design Your Route,” which is a separate tool.
