Holy Week in Rubielos de Mora was designated a Festival of Tourist Interest in Aragon in 2018, thanks to the Brotherhood of the Blood of Christ, which dates back to time immemorial and boasts a rich collection of religious images that are carried in procession alongside the Virgen del Carmen Music Association and the "La Santa Cruz" Drum and Bass Drum Association.
The most distinctive feature of Holy Week in Rubielos is the participation of the La Sangre de Cristo brotherhood, whose members wear black robes with hoods, while the two annual "clavarios" wear purple robes. In addition to the processions on Holy Thursday and Good Friday, another takes place on Easter Sunday known as the Encuentro, which culminates with the celebration of the Eucharist at the Hospitalico.
A highlight of the Friday procession is the float crafted in wrought iron (local wrought iron craftsmanship) by Manuel Baselga.
Furthermore, during these days, the roar of the drums and bass drums is heard both in the processions and during the hourly performances or “rompida.”
