The Church of La Sangre, Vilafamés

POI

Located at the foot of the castle and in front of what was once the Casa de la Villa, it is of medieval origin and baroque in the 17th century. Built partly over a cistern, which possibly served as a crypt, it has thirteen pointed arches, perhaps from the 14th century. The church has a nave with four bays, a presbytery and a choir loft at the base with chapels between buttresses. It has a barrel vault with lunettes in the nave and a ribbed vault in the presbytery. Among the interior ornamentation the different baroque altarpieces stand out, as well as the fresco paintings attributed to the Guilló family.
