Mirador de la cobijada

1. Mirador de la cobijada

Located in a privileged enclave, this viewpoint invites you to enjoy multiple perspectives ideal for photography. It highlights the sculpture of the Cobijada, with its emblematic female attire, with Castilian roots and Islamic influences. From here there is a unique view of modern Vejer, with its white houses, narrow streets and a corner of the Natural Park of La Breña and Marismas del Barbate. You can also see a stretch of wall and the Arch of Santa Catalina, which gives access to the Jewish quarter and the old town.
The Africa lookout

2. The Africa lookout

Located in the picturesque Trafalgar street of Vejer, with its characteristic white houses and reddish roofs, this viewpoint offers a breathtaking view of the sea. On clear days, you can make out the outline of North Africa. Next to the Cestería de Juani Marchán, from the wall, you can also see the mouth of the Barbate River and its marshes, as well as the eastern slope of the hill of Vejer, where the pine forest of the Parque Natural de la Breña y Marismas del Barbate stands out.
Plaza de España

3. Plaza de España

The Plaza de España, known as the "Plaza de los Pescaítos", emerged in the sixteenth century when the city expanded beyond the walled enclosure. In the 16th and 17th centuries it was the scene of bullfighting festivities. In 1957 its emblematic fountain of Sevillian tiles was added. Today it is the heart of Vejer, a place to meet, rest and take pictures. During the patron saint's festivities in August, it hosts the opening speech, the proclamation of the Cobijada Mayor and other important events such as the nights dedicated to the elderly or Carnival.
The kissing corner

4. The kissing corner

In the neighborhood of El Cerro, a few steps from the Gastronomic Market of San Francisco, is one of the most charming corners of Vejer: the Rincón del Beso. From Calle Viña, you can enjoy an unparalleled view of the monumental area of the town, highlighting the silhouette of the Church of the Divine Savior. On a white wall, some tiles invite with the phrase "Kiss me in this corner", making it an obligatory stop for those looking to capture a romantic and special moment. A place where it is easy to fall in love? with someone or with Vejer itself.
Sunset on the beach of "El Palmar

5. Sunset on the beach of "El Palmar

One of the most magical places to enjoy and photograph the most beautiful sunsets in the province is the beach of El Palmar, just 12 km from Vejer, in the heart of the Costa de la Luz. Its fine sands, crystal clear waters and unspoiled environment make it a favorite destination for surfers. Highlights the Torrenueva Tower, symbol of the place, built between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries as a strategic point of coastal surveillance. It communicated with other towers by smoke signals during the day and fire at night, protecting the coast from pirate attacks.
The Santa Lucia aqueduct

6. The Santa Lucia aqueduct

The rural nucleus of Santa Lucia, only 4 km from the town of Vejer, is one of its most attractive corners and has been declared a Natural Monument for its rich landscape. Here stands the Aqueduct, an ancient water conduction system perfected by the Arabs and symbol of the place. Next to it are preserved remains of seven water mills of the fifteenth century, which belonged to the Dukes of Medina Sidonia. You can still see pieces such as buckets and millstones. From this environment unique views of the aqueduct, the mills, the waterfalls and the town of Vejer are obtained on the hill.
