Degollada de Becerra Viewpoint

1. Degollada de Becerra Viewpoint

Located on the GC-150 road, this viewpoint offers one of the most impressive panoramic views of the volcanic caldera of Tejeda, one of the largest in the Canary Islands, originated by ancient eruptive processes. In front, the imposing Roque Bentayga, sacred to the ancient aborigines. To the left, the Roque Nublo, icon of the island. From this privileged point, you can see the heart of the Biosphere Reserve of Gran Canaria and the surroundings of Risco Caído and the Sacred Mountains, a World Heritage Site.
Mirador del Lomito las Lajas

2. Mirador del Lomito las Lajas

Located at the entrance of Tejeda, just where the Avenida de los Almendros begins, the Mirador del Lomito las Lajas offers an exceptional view of the town center. From this point you can contemplate the traditional houses with reddish roofs that are staggered along the hillside. Here you will also find the sculpture of the artist Gemma Domínguez, created during the I International Symposium of Plastic Arts in 2010. It is a perfect place to take panoramic photographs of the surroundings and connect with the artistic and natural essence of the municipality.
La Cesta Viewpoint

3. La Cesta Viewpoint

Located at kilometer 3 of the GC-60 road, over the Barranco de Tejeda bridge, this viewpoint is one of the most photographed places in the municipality. The sculpture, the work of the Portuguese artist Rita Loureiro da Silva and made during the I International Symposium of Plastic Arts in 2010, pays tribute to the effort of the families who collected almonds in a complex orography. The basket symbolizes the hard work and the local agricultural tradition. In the background, the majestic Roque Bentayga, natural emblem of Tejeda and all of Gran Canaria, rises majestically.
Cruz de Timagada Viewpoint

4. Cruz de Timagada Viewpoint

From this vantage point you can see the town of Tejeda, spread out on the slopes of the imposing volcanic caldera of the same name. Unlike the towns on the mainland, in the Canary Islands the buildings were built next to springs or water sources. In the background, the imposing silhouette of Roque Nublo dominates the landscape. The slopes are covered with almond trees that, in bloom at the end of January, dye the surroundings white and pink. This beauty is celebrated since 1970 in the Fiestas del Almendro en Flor, declared of National Tourist Interest since 2021.
Viewpoint of the Town Hall of Tejeda

5. Viewpoint of the Town Hall of Tejeda

Located in the center of town, on Dr. Domingo Hernández Guerra street, this viewpoint is one of the most photographed places in Tejeda. It houses two outstanding sculptures: La Mantilla Canaria, a bronze work by local sculptor Abraham Cárdenes, inspired by a piece preserved in the Prado Museum; and Cargando Nubes de Esperanza, by Costa Rican Donald Jiménez, created at the I International Symposium of Plastic Arts in 2010. From here you can see the imposing Roque Bentayga and, looking up, the majestic Roque Nublo.
Alfredo Kraus Cultural Center

6. Alfredo Kraus Cultural Center

At the Alfredo Kraus Cultural Center, located on Párroco Rodríguez Vega Street, stands the sculpture Mujer Timplista, a work by Costa Rican sculptor Ulises Jiménez. Made during the I International Symposium of Plastic Arts 2010 in Tejeda, this piece symbolizes the eternity of the present moment through the melody of the timple. The figure, with its gaze fixed on the Roque Bentayga, represents the connection between art, landscape and Canarian musical tradition in an environment that invites contemplation and emotion.
