Exhibition Estancia Carlos V - The King's First Voyage · Tazones (EN)
POI
Located in La Casa de los Hevia, it constitutes an outstanding reference in relation to the stay of Prince Charles of Ghent in Villaviciosa from September 19 to 23, 1517. Especially for having stayed there after disembarking in the port of Tazones.
With his arrival in Villaviciosa from Flanders, to take possession of the peninsular kingdoms, Prince Charles came into contact with the land of his Hispanic ancestors, thus beginning his first great journey of state.
This permanent exhibition called "The King's First Journey" consists of room and chamber furniture, information panels, reproductions of relevant documents, as well as other elements of special value such as a sample of the famous "Golden Fleece". All this with the aim that the visitor can get an idea of the importance of an event that launched us on the Europe of the Renaissance and the Counter-Reformation, linking Spain in the European modernity.
Also on display are the costumes and handmade footwear, created especially for the dramatized recreations of the Disembarkation that are held every year in Tazones and Villaviciosa in front of hundreds of spectators, and in charge of the Cultural Association First Disembarkation Charles V-Tazones.
These elements are complemented by various technological supports that integrate a video mapping with information on the timeline of the journey, an interactive quiz with which to test knowledge about Charles V, and even a hologram of the young monarch in which he evokes his eventful journey and deliberates on an uncertain future.
