Puertomingalvo, with its imposing castle and medieval wall, transports us to a past full of stories and legends. The presence of the Christians in the 12th century did not erase the traces of its Muslim origin. It is believed that both the castle and the wall date back to the 10th century, when the region was under Arab rule. Of the original wall, only some sections remain, being the Portalico one of the most emblematic. This secondary entrance to the village has stood the test of time, maintaining its original function for centuries. Through its arch, formerly flanked by the wall, we can imagine the hustle and bustle of daily life in medieval Puertomingalvo.
