Nijar, between the sea and tradition, a place with soul.
At the foothills of Sierra Alhamilla and 300 meters above sea level stands the town of Nijar, which has seen the passage of time and the passage of various cultures including the Muslim period that left an indelible mark on the layout of its streets, architecture, cuisine and crafts.
As an anecdote to highlight that the surrender of Níjar (Nixar) to the Catholic Monarchs took place in 1488 and scenes of these events are reflected in a relief of the lower choir stalls of the Cathedral of Toledo.
