Morella Castle

Morella opens its gates, towers that have seen history, which saw King Jaume I enter the city beginning the Reconquest. The castle, overlooking an ocean of mountains, has been one of the most imposing fortresses of the Mediterranean. The passage of numerous civilizations, prehistoric, Iberians, Romans, Muslims, Christians ... have left their mark on this impressive building inhabited continuously since the third millennium BC. Each stone contains stories, legends, alliances and conflicts. Halls and Patio de Armas have been the scene of the battles of El Cid Campeador, of conflicts such as the War of Succession, and the axis of the Carlist wars. These stones have witnessed the times of Cathars and Austrians. From the summit you can fly through the sky of Morella, mountain ranges extend before you and the visual descent, panoramic, of the Morella houses at the foot of the castle will seem a swarm of reddish roofs.
