Church of Nuestra Señora de la Muela (XV-XVI centuries)

This Gothic-Renaissance temple of the XVI century stands out for its elegance and dimensions. On the outside, its Plateresque façade is striking, while the interior houses a magnificent main altarpiece and a choir with a Mudejar ceiling of great artistic value. Declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, the church crowns the profile of the village, being a testimony of the historical splendor of the town.

Puerta de la Villa, Sur or del Arco Gateway

It is the main vestige of the ancient wall that protected the town. This semicircular arch, flanked by the remains of stone walls, served as an access control and strategic defense. Crossing it means entering directly into the medieval layout of Monteagudo. It is a corner full of history that preserves the essence of the fortified villages that guarded the Castilian border.

Castle (XV-XVI centuries, restored in the XXI century)

This imposing 15th century fortress is one of the most beautiful and best preserved castles in the province. Its elegant porticoed parade ground with Renaissance galleries and its rectangular towers that dominate the horizon stand out. Former palace of the Hurtado de Mendoza family, the castle fuses the defensive military character with the palatial architecture, being the great emblem of the town.
