Sanctuary of Ntra. Sra. de las Angustias

Of Baroque origin, it has been later reformed. Its majestic Churrigueresque main altarpiece from 1715, the great 18th century tabernacle and the extraordinary 17th century carving of the Virgen de las Angustias, patron saint of the town, called "La preciosa" by her devotees, stand out. The side porches of the Sanctuary were used for shelter and rest of the Galician pilgrims and reapers who went to Castile by this way; when they returned from the harvest, they left their sickles in the sanctuary as an offering and gratitude to the Virgin, not without first having torn with them a small splinter of the doors as a precious relic, so it was necessary to cover the wood with iron sheets to prevent them from disappearing.
