Roman Bridge of the Pilgrims
Molinaseca
POI

Of Roman plant it is an obligatory step in the Way of Santiago. There are numerous documents that attest to it since the twelfth century. It is an ashlar bridge with seven semicircular arches, three of them older than Roman times, since there was a Roman road that linked the high of Foncebadon with Ponferrada. This bridge has undergone changes to adapt to the course of the river over time. Philip IV in 1637 granted the Council of Molinaseca the right to charge taxes on livestock and goods passing through it.
