City Gate
Mojácar
POI

This is the original access to Mojácar. The current gate was rebuilt in the sixteenth century, on the original Arab gate, which opened in the wall. It served as a means of communication to the slope of La Fuente and the Plaza del Caño. It bears the coat of arms of the city, with the double-headed eagle of the house of Austria. On it can be seen a tower, a key and a scimitar, and the legend "To the very noble and loyal city of Mojácar, key and protection of the kingdom of Granada".
