Manor House of the Counts of Mogrovejo

This imposing architectural ensemble represents the lineage and power of the Mogrovejo family in Liébana. Attached to the emblematic tower, the house stands out for its sober facade of ashlar masonry and masonry, preserving the noble air of past centuries. Although its interior is private, its exterior structure, perfectly integrated into the mountainous landscape, is one of the most stately pictures of Cantabria.

Historic District

Declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, the town center of Mogrovejo is a living museum of the architecture of the town. Strolling through its streets you can admire houses of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries with wooden balconies full of flowers, stone walls and coats of arms. Mogrovejo Tower

Built at the end of the 13th century, this medieval square tower is the undisputed symbol of the village. With a height of 21 meters and topped by battlements, it served as a lookout and strategic defense post in the valley. It is preserved in excellent condition and is considered one of the most beautiful fortresses in the region, highlighting its twin windows and its sturdy stone structure.

Church of Our Lady of the Assumption

This 17th century temple is the spiritual epicenter of the town. Of mountain baroque style, it stands out for its simple but elegant belfry and its plant of a single nave. Inside, the visitor can find an altarpiece of great artistic value and an image of the Virgin of the Assumption. The church, surrounded by meadows and traditional architecture, completes the historic complex with great charm.
