Interpretation Center: Bletisa

Located in the church of San Miguel, it is a heritage space where you can discover the enigmas of the town, know its corners, understand the past and savor its present. In it, using different media such as audiovisual, interactive, texts, photographs, etc.. a journey through the life of Ledesma is made. At present, the center can be visited in English and French. The usual schedule is from Thursday to Sunday, mornings and afternoons, and in high season it is also open on Wednesdays. It also serves as a tourist information point complementary to the tourist office.

Urban Tourist Route

This urban route, signposted for both adults and children -the younger ones with the help of a children's booklet-, runs through the most representative places of the old town and allows to contemplate the rich heritage of this Historic Site. It is a signposted circular route, easy to follow, self-guided and accessible from any point -also in English and French- by means of QR codes. This itinerary, in addition to taking the visitor through the network of narrow streets where the main stately homes are signposted, stops at the most significant points of the Villa, such as the Fortress, the Arch of San Nicolas, the Plaza Mayor, where the Church of Santa Maria and the Town Hall are located, or the Paseo Alonso Andrea, among others. And, although the route is circular, it is recommended to start the route in San Miguel Street, after visiting the Interpretation Center.

Paseo de Alonso Andrea

This place, located within the walled enclosure, combines rest areas with renovated gardens, in addition to housing two of the most representative buildings of Ledesmino's heritage: the Alhóndiga and the old Hospital of San José. It is a privileged enclave from which to contemplate one of the best panoramic views of the town: in the foreground you can see the mountain range, the river, the bridges, the hermitage of the Virgen del Carmen... and a little further on you can see the typical landscape of the Salamanca pasture, one of the best preserved and sustainable Mediterranean ecosystems. The name comes from a character ledesmino that the chronicles consider possible inspiration for Cervantes in the creation of Don Quixote.

Puente Mocho Route

This is a signposted route that crosses the pasture landscape of a forest of centennial oaks, with broom, lavender or thyme, where you can also discover specimens of the fauna of the area: rabbits, hares, foxes, kestrels, some griffon vultures or black stork, among others. Through it runs one of the historical routes of the Land of Ledesma, the Bletisama Ocelo-Duri route, which crosses the Mocho Bridge. Of Roman origin and recently restored, was declared of Cultural Interest in 2000 along with the remains of Roman road that are preserved at their ends. Characteristics of the route: 4.68 kms round trip, low difficulty.

Within the confectionery of Ledesmina, the product par excellence is the rosquillas (doughnuts). Although its origin is not known with certainty, today the old confectioneries where they were made and the people who ran them are still remembered with nostalgia. Collection miniatures -thimbles, bookmarks, etc.-, music boxes, antiques, art objects and collectibles, made with decorative techniques such as pyrography and color, fretwork, pastoral carving and inlay, are some of the pieces that can be seen here. In this workshop, located in the historic center of Ledesma, not only these works are made but through craftsmanship also discover the traditions of the area, customs, utensils with which our elders played and later worked.
